🌊 Coastal Conservation in a Changing World 🌊
Cornwall’s stunning coastline is more than just a beautiful backdrop—it’s the foundation of our history, culture, economy, and way of life. But with growing pressures from marine infrastructure developments, how do we strike the right balance between progress and protection? Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Marine Team is working to protect and restore our marine and coastal habitats.
Join Dan Barrios-O’Neill, Head of Marine Conservation at Cornwall Wildlife Trust, for a fascinating and timely talk on the challenges and opportunities facing our marine and coastal habitats. What is the right the balance between the interests of local communities, protecting irreplaceable habitats, the need for a resilient low carbon economy, and mitigating against the impacts of climate change? He’ll explore:
✅ The latest marine projects in Cornwall—including desalination, seaweed aquaculture, and floating offshore wind
✅ The biggest risks and potential solutions for effective marine conservation
✅ Why coastal conservation matters more than ever—and how local communities play a crucial role
