Come along to find out about the secret superhero of the Ocean, seagrass! Covering only 0.2% of the seabed but accounting for 10% of the ocean’s carbon storage, this blue carbon champion deserves some recognition. Join Esther Farrant, a conservation scientist and diver from the Ocean Conservation Trust in partnership with LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES to learn about the fantastic conservation project taking place right here in the southwest. Find out more about the mysteries of the ocean, see their Advanced Mooring Systems in action and discover how you, as a boat user, diver, or just marine enthusiast can get involved. This is an opportunity not to be missed to get engaged with the latest venture fighting climate change, out of sight beneath the waves! Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. This is a FREE event but donations to Looe Marine Conservation Group are appreciated.
The talk will be followed by our monthly meeting to which all are welcome.
