Sunday 4th March, 12.00 – 2.00pm. Meet on Hannafore Beach below the kiosk/public toilets. Free volunteer training session on rockpool wildlife for anyone interested in helping with our work.
Suitable for any level – aimed at beginners and those wanting a refresher.
If you’d like to help at our ever-popular school holiday rockpooling events, brush up on your skills, or find out more about marine wildlife so you can help record what’s out there, this free event is for you.
Our resident rockpooling expert and Cornish Rock Pools wildlife blogger, Heather Buttivant, will introduce you to the habitats and species found at Hannafore beach. You’ll learn how to tell species apart and discover lots of amazing facts to share with attendees at our events.
This is a practical session so please wear wellies (or other footwear that can be completely submerged), wear warm layers and waterproof clothing. Bring a bucket or small tub. Hand lenses useful if you have one.
Under-18s who are interested in volunteering with us are very welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult at this event.
The event is over lunchtime to coincide with a fabulous spring low tide. You may want to bring some snacks along (or have a giant breakfast)!
