Messy, dull, boring, lifeless? Wrong! The mudflats of the Looe estuary are rich and interesting habitats that support a hidden community of fascinating plants and animals that in turn provide food for birds, fish and other creatures. This event, which is held in the picturesque West Looe river valley, will introduce you to the estuary and the creatures that call it home. So join us to get ‘Mad about Mud!
We’ll explore the life that occurs beneath the surface of the mud and in the low water channel and explain why it is so important to us. So – are you ready to get muddy?
This joint event held every year with Friends of Kilminorth Woods allows us to explore and discover another rich habitat within the Looe Voluntary Marine Conservation Area – the rich and wonderful world of the mudflats of the Looe River Estuary!
